Food and local produce to contribute, buy and enjoy. The first part of the
evening will offer an opportunity to buy locally made goods and fresh, wholesome
food which you can enjoy while troubadours set the mood for an evening of
relaxed entertainment.
Later, browse the stalls before wandering off to listen
to a highly original presentation of music, poetry and drama in the church.
Children will be entertained by an optional suitably themed movie upstairs in
the Annex.
All in all, a time to relax and share the gifts and fruits of our
church community.
How can you participate?
Help us make the evening a success! You could:
- Sell your locally made products, such as olives, breads, cheeses, honey, oils,
juices etc.
- Bring and sell food for supper – all natural and local of course!
- Participate as a troubadour, playing a musical instrument
- Take part in the indoor entertainment by reading a poem, staging some drama or
making music
- Offer to assist in other ways.
Saturday 7 November
Afternoon videos at Christ Church Centre (not in the church!)
In response to popular demand, we will re-run the two videos shown on A Rocha
evenings during 2009:
- 14h00 : A Convenient Truth: Urban Solutions from Curitiba, Brazil (re-run)
- 15h00 : The Power of Community – How Cuba Survived Peak Oil (re-run) What it's
about: When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990, Cuba's economy went into a
tailspin. Oil imports were halved; food was reduced by 80%. The people were
desperate. ….
- 16h00 : Promo videos on A Rocha and SAFCEI.
Sunday 8 November
From noon Picnic at the Kenilworth Racecourse
Low carbon picnicking: Please try to bring a wholesome lunch with ‘green’
packaging. Carbonated drinks and snacks with packaging are discouraged. Instead,
we encourage wholesome and locally grown / produced food. (Explore our carnival

Saturday!)
